2007 was a banner year for turtles along the trail. I photographed many and blogged about them repeatedly (1, 2, 3, 4). This year? None. Not even a glimpse.

NO turtles, but I saw a deer in early August, actually two -- mom with a baby -- near Lexington/Bedford border.
That's not far from where I saw a mother and fawn a year ago. Did you get a picture?
I don't think I've seen any turtles, but I did see a raccoon near the Arlington Great Meadows area in broad daylight one weekend afternoon earlier this summer! And last night on the way home I nearly ran over a very cute, but thrill-seeking kitten that darted across the trail in Lexington center.
Saw what looked like a very young snapping turtle crossing the path in Lexington, last Sunday.
