I put on new wheels and new bearings from Inline Warehouse yesterday. I expected them to feel faster than the old ones and wasn't disappointed. The surprise was how much smoother the ride is. The new wheels are the same as my previous ones, so it must be the bearings.
Yesterday: 14 miles. This year: 141.3 miles.

Off topic, but I was wondering if you knew what a post with an "R" on it is supposed to mean. There is at least one I've seen near Sonic's art (between miles 7 and 8, I think). It must be from the old railroad times, but I quickly googled around and couldn't find anything related.
I know the posts with "W" are "whistle posts" (there are two at the very end in Bedford).
Any idea what "R" stands for?
Say, that really is off topic. I've seen the R post and wondered about it, but don't have a good theory. I wasn't sure if the W posts were for whistling or switching -- the branching or joining tracks form a W shape. Somebody should do some research...
You're right about the W posts, per the Wikipedia article Whistle Post. There's no cross-reference to R posts, though.
The W posts I found featured here:
